NVC Processing Assistance

Hello. My name is Aakash Mehta. I have filed I-130, Petition for Alien Relative for my Spouse. Our case was transferred to NVC and I have finished all the processing for NVC. I have submitted DS-261 online. After that, I have paid the fees for AOS package and have sent AOS package. I have also paid the fees for immigration visa (IV) application and have sent all the necessary civil documents. Lastly, I have filled the online application for immigration visa DS-260 and I do have the confirmation letter for it.

What should be my next step. I read the NVC guide on wiki but wanted to confirm. Is there anything else that I need to do now or I just wait for the interview call?

Call NVC to see if you have case complete about 20 to 30 days after you sent in package. Once you have case complete comeo onover to the Interview thread and be sure to fill out the form in my signature so I can add you to the spreadsheet.

How long has it been since you sent in AOS package? IV Package?

Nothing more you need to do right now for NVC. For us though, it would be really nice if you'd fill in your timeline and add the timeline info to your signature. Maybe even submit your info to the NVC spreadsheet! It's really nice for the rest of us to be able to compare timelines, so we can have an idea of what to expect!

Actually NVC will not call you. If you have given them your email ID and also the beneficiary's email ID they will send you a case complete email and later they will send you the interview schedule email (interview letter). They are somewhat slow in sending out these emails. So it is better that you call NVC to find out

i) if they have accepted your AOS

ii) if they have accepted your IV

iii) if the case is complete

iv) if the interview is scheduled, when is it?

Is your interview going to be in Mumbai?

Meanwhile, while you are waiting for the case complete, you can (and should) create a profile in US Travel docs for the beneficiary (applicant) here

Later when you get the interview letter, you will be scheduling the OFC appointment for fingerprinting and pictures. Also, you will be selecting the passport+documents pickup location at this same website.
