case sent to wrong embassy

My case (CR1) was sent to a wrong embassy instead of Lagos. Please has anyone been in this situation or does anyone know how long it would take to get corrected and assigned a fresh interview date?

How did that happen?

What embassy did yo get and where is your petition at?

What address did you use for the beneficiary? That is what drives what embassy. You actual write on the I-130 what embassy and it correlates to the address of the beneficiary.

Also what have you done so far?

Have you contacted NVC?

Do you already have an interview date since you said "a fresh interview date"?

Initially I was in the UK at the time of filling my case, but came back to Nigeria this year. NVC was notified about the change of address! But to our surprise when the P4 came, London was the embassy for interview in June (with my new Nig addy as my mailing address still in the 'same letter' ) SMH. I contacted NVC and they said its late to amend the mistake, that I should contact the embassies for the transfer request. That, I have done early this month. The embassies acknowledged the request.

I just don't know how long I have to wait again after the initial waiting??

If at all possible do the UK interview. Because it will take abit to switch. You have to notify embassy in UK and have files transferred and they are n;t fast about it then once in Lagos they will reschedule. It could take months. Sorry But call UK and ask maybe they can rush your case. Doesn't hurt to ask.

I was in the same situation.. it might take 2 to 3 months for the file to be transferred to lagos embassy..notting to worry about.

Hello Okenz, did Lag schedule U immediately they got d case? Pls how long exactly did yours take and what embassy was the wrong one. 'Nothing to worry about' why do u say so? I know I'm asking a lot, Its just frustrating!!
