A heads up for anyone else waiting out their k1 in the US and planning on updating shots here- I just had my MMR at a cost of $199. Yikes. Was trying to get all my ducks in a row, they are very expensive ducks.

Sometimes I fear we're going to go through all this nonsense and then we'll end up moving back to Canada due to the cost of health care.

The shots would be free with most insurance plans under the wellness clause.

My husband got one for free at the county health clinic with no insurance.

Even here in expensive New York, the county health clinic has them for a reasonable fee. No need for an expensive doctor for something simple like that.

Good grief, here's thinking I did my research when I called the local clinic to find out where to get them. I have a feeling they saw me comin....The quote over the phone was only 100, then after the fact it was more. It's taking me a bit to realise that medicine is a money making enterprise here. My travel insurance only covers emergencies unfortunately, it's not like a regular insurance plan.
