Hi everyone. I'm hearing horror stories re: Medical Exam in Manila where people are camping out overnight to wait in line or someone going in at 2AM on the day of their appointment to find a line already waiting. How bad is it really as far as the line goes? I'm in Manila right now helping my fiance out. We haven't received Packet 4 yet but she's been told by other K1 applicants that there's a really long wait for Medical Exam. If anyone here has gone through it already - is this true? Thanks in advance for the help. Also does the Embassy allow parking inside their grounds for the interview if I go along?

My husband had his medical last Jan 11th. He got there around 5:30. He said theres around 30people ahead of him, which is not bad. He just have to wait for another hour to get inside the building. He finished everything before 11, he said that medical procedure that I got from Sheiff Uling's Signature really helped him to speed up the process.

Good Luck to you and your wife!!!

The medical exam really takes 2 days. First day for the tests, and the second day is for the immunizations and the release of x-ray. I went there last Jan. 10 and started at 9am and there is parking along the side streets. Parking costs P50 for the whole day. By the way, St. Lukes does not close for lunch break so you may want to bring something to eat while waiting. I was able to finish the medicals (with 2 children) in 2 days, so it is pretty efficient...just need to be patient and wait for your name to be called.

For the US Embassy interview, they do not allow parking inside their grounds, so you may need to park at the Luneta parking lot. Another option is at the Starbucks or Emerald Restaurant parking just across the embassy. Or better still, just get a cab since parking can be a problem in the area.

Good luck and keep up the spirit.

My fiancee just did her medical exam last week. A lot of people think you need to go there at 4AM to get in. Well my fiancee planned to do that, but she went there the day before at 10AM to pick up the forms to fill up in advance, but they sent her right in and she was done at about 4PM! Of course you may still need to go back the next day for vaccinations.

The advantage of going really early is 2 things - 1) you are gauranteed to get in that day, and 2) you might be able to get your vaccinations the same day. If you don't get there early enough there is a possibility they could be filled up for that day and you would have to come back another day.

And, keep in mind that you don't have to go on the date they give you on the interview letter. You can go any time you like as long as it's at least 1 week before the interview. You don't need an appointment.

Just make sure to bring $95 (in pesos), your appointment letter, passport, and 3 passport-sized photos, and make sure you know the answers to the following questions:

St. Luke's - Information for forms:

· Name (Last, First, Middle):

· Civil Status: single or married

· Case Number: MNLxxxxxxxxxx

· Classification: K1 or K3

· Consul: Manila, Philippines

· Present country of Residence: Philippines

· Passport Number:

· Place where passport was issued:

· Date when passport was released:

· Is your petitioner still alive? Yes

· Contact person at the above USA address:

· Name of your nearest relative in USA:

· Relationship: fiance or husband

· Complete Address of your nearest relative:

· Telephone number of your nearest relative:

St. Luke's - Questions during the exam:

· Date of the first day of my menstruation:

· If I had any major operation:

· History of stroke, high blood:

· History of diabetes:

· History of asthma:

· Suicidal attempt:

· Given birth:

· Liver or kidney problem:

Hopefully, from Medical to interview won't take too long...

to answer your question that was not intended for me anyway (haha), we never used a lawyer/attorney. we did all the filing by ourselves. if you have a pretty clean case it shouldn't be a problem. next week i have to submit my petition for the removal of conditions on my green card with no lawyer. hopefully that goes well.

hope you guys get the approval!

They usually give you an exam date for 1 week before the interview so they have time to get the results to the Embassy. It's always better to go earlier if you can. You don't need an appointment to go earlier. My fiancee did her medical last week and interview is in Feb.

Don't know if they can get it there in 6 days, probably they can but why risk it?

Hey guys, I had my medical last December 14, 2006 and I did it for one whole day.. just go at St. Luke's earlier so that you can be accomodated earlier too, but the thing is you have to do your assignment so that you know what floors you are going too, papers you need to give and stuff like that... I just used the experienced posted by one of the VJ members I think Uling's signature has it... brought it with me and then there by 10am I was finished with the medical exam at 2pm I had my shots and at 5:30pm they released my result..

God bless to all of you!!!

PS. Didn't have any problems with the doctor and staff there!!! Just be prepared when you go there or else they will give you a hard time!!
