Our case was competed April 25. So we are waiting for our IL until the VB for June changes feom current. Any idea wat we could do to have our IL? There is no assurance that we could have our IL for these year, am I right? I was thinking if my husband could apply for a citizenship while he is petitioning us? Or is it also a long wait? Are it will just ruin our ongoing petition? Please help us.

He can. File gor citizenship. I believe it takes 5-6months for the whole process then upgrade your petition to IR. About retrogression, there is no specific date when it will move. Theres a lot of speculations, like there would be furthier retrogression, or it will not move and got stuck fpr a year, there are also positive feedbacks like it will become current by august and september again or could possibly be back on sept 8, 2014 as vb on october (new fiscal year). But we are hoping for the best. Since vb movement has really no trend if u review vb history, anything could happen.

If there's a derivative child in the F2A petition, you can expect delays if the petitioner decides to become a USC. Once the spouse petition is upgraded from F2A to IR1/CR1, the derivative child will no longer be allowed to immigrate using the parent's category. A separate i130 must be filed for the child. The child will be IR2/CR2.

Now, if there's no child involved, upgrading can speed-up your case if the retro continues.
