About to send in I-485 package, 2 copies of anything?

I didn't send 2 copies of our marriage certificate we just sent an original and didn't get an RFE for it.

I'm trying to think if we sent 2 of anything but I can't think of anything off of the top of my head. Did you check over the guides section on top for AOS? The checklist is very helpful.

If I remember it correctly, we send one for I-485, one for I-130, and one for I-765. I might be wrong, though - we sent them almost a year ago!

hmm, I don't recall it asking for a marriage certificate for AP and EAD. It doesn't say anything about that in the checklists on VJ but who knows. Maybe another RFE is coming our way!

If so, then I suppose we'll be getting an RFE for the same thing too Sarah. Joel's AP and EAD were approved months ago. We only sent one copy of our marriage certificate - certified - with the I-485. The only RFE we got was for the I-864.

Sorry for the confusion

I checked, and we actually sent one original and two copies of marriage certificate. I heard somewhere that the file that you send is devided at some point, so different people may have your Forms and their supportive documents. That is why we sent an original for I-130 and a copy for I-485. It might be unnessacery, but if sending an additional copy might save you time (they would spend some time requesting the copy from another employee, right?) we decided to do that.

We also sent one copy for EAD, just to make sure that they understand what is going on. I did not want them to issue the EAD based on the visa type I was adjusting from.
