I have an old Alien Registration Number from my last visa almost ten years ago. That A number is 8 digits whereas DS-260 complains when the A number is not 9 digits long.

I came across this page: https://e-verify.uscis.gov/esp/help/EvHelpAlienandI94Nbr.htm which has this section "For alien numbers with fewer than nine digits, add one zero (0) to the beginning of an eight-digit alien number..." but that may be only for the system they are talking about (E-Verify system) and may not apply to form DS-260.

For DS-260, do you guys think I should enter my A number with a leading 0 or just tick off the "do not know" box next to it?

Thanks.
