I filed a consulate report birth abroad at mobay consulate agency they told us 6-8 week does that mean we are approved are the us embassy in kingston will ofto review it first I don't quit understand

It can take time for them to sort through all the paperwork maybe request a DNA. No it doesn't mean approved. I would email or call and get status. that's a long time to wait never heard it taking quite that long.

That's the timeframe they say u ofto wai t but it don't ofto take that long they also said they can request a DNA but they don't ofto I did it a week ago now

The previous answer is correct. Since you are the Jamaican citizen, they can request a DNA for the American father. This would be different if you were American. 6 weeks is the normal wait time to receive the birth aboard paperwork. Thereafter, you will need to get an American passport for the baby. The process is not quick and it may take a few more weeks be patient. Once the baby gets issued the passport then he/she can travel.

Remember you have to apply for the American passport also it takes an American citizen about 6 weeks here in the states to get issued one from here. So don't rush it.
