Hello!

Please I need your help! I have my us fiancée visa processed and approved here in HK but I'm planning to go back in Philippines to see my family first and from there I will fly to USA. Do I need to attend seminar too? The guidance and counseling seminar to get the CFO sticker? What should I do? I'm not aware of this. Thank you in advance.

When you try to leave the Philippines, and they see the USA K-1 visa, they will want to see the CFO seminar stamp in your passport.

They've set up a new system to make an appointment online.

I should mention, if you have a permanent residence card in another country, the CFO sticker is not required.

If you fly to the Philippines and visit family before flying to the USA you will need to get your CFO sticker before you will be allowed to exit.

There is info on CFO in my link below... follow the flashing arrow.

Thank you so much everyone for your input. I'm glad I run through a YouTube video of one pinay saying she has sticker so I googled it and found that it's CFO sticker. When I got my visa approved the staff in us consulate hongkong never mention it since I told them that I'll be back in Philippines and depart from there to USA.

I don't think the consulate in the Manila embassy even mention it. Its a Philippine government requirement, not a USA requirement.

CFO is not a U.S. requirement so there would be no reason for the U.S. consulate to mention it. CFO is a Philippines requirement.

Thank you so much! Its a big help. I just got my visa and plan to go home in August. Maybe I can schedule my seminar appointment right after I got back home. I need to go to Manila from our province which big hassle (time and money) but no choice since I want to be with my family before flying to US on September.

Cebu does not have online appointment system yet. They are still first come first served, and I have heard horror stories about people getting there at 1 AM and already all the slots were full.

The online Manila reservation system is a bit touchy but it works. I just successfully made an appointment for Candy next Wednesday at 9 AM.

Currently, along with the visa packet sent by the embassy is a sheet of paper with information about CFO seminar requirement (in giant bold letters). Apparently the Philippine government has coordinated this requirement with the embassy, which is the right way to inform people. Altho of course, it will miss Filipinos who received their visas abroad.

Nice to know the embassy added a notice to the packet with the visa, hopefully that will help eliminate those getting to the airport and being turned away for lack of a CFO sticker.

Embassy does make note of CFO on their website as well: http://manila.usembassy.gov/after-the-interview.html
