I-765 Question 11 with a previous J-1

Hello all.

I'm finally starting on my AOS forms ( I want to have them all ready to go when we get married next month) after putting it off (so fed up with paperwork already lol). I have a question regarding Question 11 on form I-765 "Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS". There's an option to tick yes or no, enter which USCIS office etc.

I held a J1 visa from June 2010 to July 2010. I obviously had the right to work on this visa but don't remember applying for an EAD or anything similar as our host company and sponsor took care of any paperwork. I remember they bussed us all to an office but I'm pretty sure that was to set up our social security numbers.

Should I tick 'no' to this question??

Thank you for any replies!

P.S. For Question 16 I put ( c ) (9), I hope this is right!

Thank you very much for confirming this! I asked over on britishexpats.com too and was told no there aswell. Its a relief to have another person knowledgeable in this area, especially someone who has actually had a J-1 before too.

Many thanks :)

Hello. I'm 2 years late to this post. I've just started to fill out my paperwork for AOS since this time I came in a B-1 Visa.

I was also in a J1 visa about 5 years ago. I'll put NO for previous EAD, but in the end, did you put ©(9) for category??
