hello vj members,

I am staying here in Canada as a foreign worker since March 2012, my WORKING visa is valid until march 2015,my petition is now in NVC stage, my case number start with the letter (MTL-Montreal), we already submitted the affidavit of support and all civil documents to NVC, but last april 11 I received a checklist requiring me to submit ELIGIBILITY DOCUMENT to be processed in Canada, so i submitted the copy of my working visa and work permit to NVC on April 12, but then again today i received same checklist for ELIGIBILITY DOCUMENT so i guessed???? my working VISA is not entitled me to be processed here in Canada, my Question is does the processing of US Immigrant visa in MONTREAL CANADA is for CANADIAN Citizen and CANADIAN landed immigrant only and not for any other NATIONALS. Input very much appreciated, any similar situation ???

THANK YOU..

ELIGIBILITY DOCUMENT:________________________________________
You must submit proof establishing your eligibility to be processed for an immigrant visa
in Canada. Canadian citizens can meet this requirement with copies of Canadian
passports, Canadian citizenship certificates, or birth certificates showing birth in Canada.
If you are not a Canadian citizen, you must provide us with a copy of your Landed
Immigrant papers or a copy of your visa that states that you may legally remain in Canada
for six more months. This document must indicate six months validity from the time it is
received at the NVC.
If you are currently residing in the U.S., you must provide us with a copy of your Landed
Immigrant papers or a copy of your visa valid for 6 months or more from the date the
document is received at the NVC.
If acceptable proof of eligibility is not provided as requested your case will be reassigned to process at
the Embassy/Consulate in your last country of residence
