So we just received our NoA 1, we got routed to California. So we are hoping to get a speedy approval like a few did, since we both live abroad :-]

Now to my questions:

PS. I am the beneficiary´, NOT the petitioner.

We have a joint sponsor that will help us. And I read in the guide that the joint sponsor needs proof of citizenship or residency

"proof of their U.S citizenship or permanent residency is required. (i.e. copy of birth certificate, immigration status etc"

Our sponsor is from china, but has been living in the u.s for a very long time, over 10 years.

Can she scan her passport as proof? since her green card will be attached to the passport, or what other proof can she provide?

Second question is in regards to bank statements. How many months of bank statements does she need to provide? Since she gets 1 every month, the tax transcripts we will print out online using the IRS page.

Also, how "new" do these papers need to be?

Can we gather all of this now, even if we dont get approved within the next 6 months? or should we just gather it when we receive our NoA 2 ?

Thanks!

Tax papers and a couple of months worth of paystubs should be enough.

If you are using bank account info, I recommend at least 6 months worth.

The newer the better for proof; the tax filing papers won;t change between now and in 6 months, but paystubs and bank account info should be recent, I;d recommend no older than 2 months prior to interview date (and newer if anything has changed since then).
