Sending DS -2001 before police certificate received?

Guillaume sent the request for the UK police certificate last week (he lived there for 2 years before he moved back to Paris). He has the France police certificate, but not the UK one yet.

Should he send the DS-2001 back to the Embassy to get them moving on the interview, or should he wait? I know what it says, I'm just wondering what people REALLY do...

Well, we made sure to have our police certificate, but we hadn't set up our medical exam when we sent the checklits back, but that was because we wanted to do the interview and the exam at the same time, and needed to know the interview date before we could book the exam.

I guess the question is, do you feel strongly enough that you'll get the UK certificate in time? Or would you feel safer not worrying?

I don't know, because I don't know how long it takes to get the interview scheduled once the packet is sent back! So, of course I'd probably feel better not worrying about it, but then I'll worry about how long it takes to set up the interview.

Well I suggest do some poking around in the regional forum and see what average wait time between sending back the packet 3 and getting an interview date is, that'll shed a little more light on it.

That being said, if you are worried about it, I'd say wait until you get that little booger in your hands.

I know, that's what I'm thinking, too.
