Relationships that started via Social Media

I have a question to all those that have met via social media or per say online!! How long did you guys waited before deciding filling for a K-1 Visa? I ask this question because I met my fiancé through Instagram, back in November 2014, from day one we have been in contact 24/7 since, I met all his family in NY. I traveled to the Dominican to meet in person in March 2014, I was there for a week and he proposed… I don’t have the funds, the schedule or time ( I’m a single parent of two beautiful girls and just started a new job) to travel again before I summit my petition. My concerned is, if the fact, that we have known each other for such a short period of time may raise suspicions, since we have only know each other for 6 months. I’m debating if I should wait a few more months or should I sent the petition. I love him and we can’t wait to be together and I feel the longer I wait to send it, the longer will take for him to be here. Anyone in the same or similar situation??

We first met online in December, 2008, met in person in February, 2009 and filed two weeks after that meeting.

I would file now. You'll have a while before your petition is approved and you'll get your interview so your relationship timeline will be longer by that point. I met my fiancé' in the chat of an app in 2012. We didn't decide to be together until May of 2013 then met in person last month. I filed ours exactly one month after I left our visit. I haven't seen anyone talk about having issues because their relationship was new. At the first phase, you just need to provide evidence that you met within the last 2 years. At the interview is when you have to sell them on it being an actual real relationship. That will be months from now (unless you get forwarded to the CSC which is having amazingly fast approvals. No fair for us TSCers!) so you'll be even further into you relationship at that point.

Wow, one of the first people to acknowledge this about those specific countries....AND.....early in the process.

With this knowledge, my suggestion is to read over all the reviews and histories in the appropriate regional forum....AND.....ensure that you have plenty of evidences of a real relationship.....it is suggested to purposefully generate all kinds of evidences.

we knew each other on twitter, and I was going to Santa barbara for a wine vacation/ wine work, meeting some local wine makers and she wanted to come along I said two wine lovers cant go wrong, So I have told the border guards we met on twitter, sometimes we have interesting conversations with border guards lol heck even one convo was about how pandora doesnt work in Canada he was all shocked

I have all our conversations from day one through WhatsApp, Cell bill, boss revolution statements ( that shows how much money I spend a month on calling cards auto recharge and its A LOT!) Pictures with him and his family here is New York etc… I’m on it! I read everyone’s experiences and I have an idea on what to expect. Thank you for the input!

Perfect......but just remember that all the evidences need to show the normal evolution of a relationships....so it's more about content then it is about quantity.
