Hello VJ friends,

My I-129F Packet was delivered to its destination in Dallas, TX today. I sent it the 15th and it arrived today on the 19th. What is the next step? When will I receive the next notification and how can I track the rest? Thanks

Didn't you ask this before? http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/491316-i-129f-packet-sent/

Next step is to wait until you receive your approval notice. Research the process for applying for the K-1 visa at the consulate you will interview at while you wait.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to K-1 Case Filing and Progress Reports - topic is filing/case status ~

Is the USPs site no longer any use to me now? Since it is delivered already.

Also I never received a text or email and I filled out that 1145 form. Should I be concerned?

Now you have to wait approximately 30-60 days for the application to be reviewed. If your application has no errors than you have nothing to worry about and just have to sit back and relax for them to send your further required forms. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

It is not an application for anything. It is an I-129F petition. They don't take 30-60 days to review it before you need to wait, After you mail it and get the receipt notice, you wait. When an adjudicator gets around to processing their file, they will get an approval, a denial or be sent an RFE, if any required documentation is missing. What 'further required forms' will they be sending?

USPS tracking is to track what you mailed. It was sent and already received, USPS tracking has nothing to do with following your I-129F case status, Go to the USCIS website and enter your receipt number(after you get your NOA1 receipt notice) to get status updates on your case. It is a Saturday, so perhaps that is why you have not received e-notification of your paperwork being received yet. Though occasionally even those that sent the G-1145 don't ever get e-notified. It can take up to 30 days to receive the NOA1 hard copy receipt letter in the mail, but it typically arrives sooner than that.

I know what they are speaking of. They sent their I-129F petition and received notification from the USPS that it was received. They will now wait to receive the receipt notice, which will contain their receipt number and tell them which service center will be processing their petition.

They will receive the receipt number, yes, but not necessarily any requests for additional information. If they did not leave out any required documentation or make any mistakes on any of the forms, then they will not be receiving an RFE(Request for Evidence). As I told you above, when an adjudicator gets around to processing their case and picks up their file, they will either get an approval, a denial or an RFE. So, if it takes 4 months until someone looks at their petition, then they will get the approval, denial or RFE at the 4 month mark. If they get an RFE, then that adds additional time to their processing time.

How do you know their petition will be processed in less than 90 days? Some people have been receiving fast approvals lately, but the typical processing time is still at 5 months. Have a look at the processing times for the two service centers.

"Each case is different and no exact timing can be guaranteed." is correct. You have no idea how fast their petition will be processed.
