My fiancé is a domestic helper (aka maid) in hong kong . Her daughter is 5 years old and lives with grandma and family in the Philippines til she can get the visa approved . I know she will have to have the medical exam (daughter) but what is the chances she will have to have an interview also . I put hong kong as the consulate because I called the Immigration department and they couldn't tell me what I needed to do . My fiancé employers are very strict and not sure it they will willing let her go back to the Philippines for her medical and interview . Has anyone had experienced a child that young having to interview.

100% . She will have to attend an interview. The process and requirements are almost identical for the child.

Child will not need a CENOMAR or NBI because of her age. Will need the NSO birth certificate and the financial support documents and supporting evidence.

For CFO she only needs to be registered after she has her visa to get the CFO sticker for leaving the country.

Follow the embassy instructions letter for everything required by the embassy.

Thanks hank . I am trying to get ahead of the game so I know which direction to go . As I stated her employers I think might be a problem so we will have to figure that out and switch her interview to the Philippines if they don't already do it at the visa center .

While I don't think the interviewer is going to ask a lot of questions of a small child, she does have to be presented at the interview. You may wish to consider leaving her with a realitve until the doors to the embassy open at 7 AM so she does not have to wait on line with you.

THe medical is a bit easier. For a child they do a TB skin test not chest xray. I think the cutoff age is 14 bot not sure. She is also exempt from STD testing unless the doctor sees other eividence that she might have STD. And of course a pregnancy test at age 6 would be ridiculous.

For both of you, bring whatever vaccination records you have. Anything to help the doctor conclude you need fewer shots and not more is to your benefit.

Good luck to you.
