So, my petition is at the NVC but a case number has not been assigned to it yet. I wanted to know if I can put in an expedite request before a case number is generated or I have to wait until a case number is assigned and then put in an expedite request?

Thanks :)

You would probably need the case number to be able to request an expedite at the NVC.

Did you request an expedite at USCIS? If so, was it approved?

Can someone request to expedite an I-130 or I -129f application at USCIS? And on what grounds if that's even possible? Thanks!

No unfortunately I did not apply for expedite at the USCIS. I did not know untill it is was very late that we could expedite the case plus we did not fit into any of the "situations" that would qualify for an expedite from USCIS.

The NVC has the same qualifications. Even if they approve an expedite that doesn't mean the embassy will expedite it and you could be waiting LONGER for interview (yes I've seen it happen on VJ.)

It's on the USCIS website.
