Hi, everyone! I have a few questions about rescheduling biometrics appointments, especially from those who may have experience with it. My husband and I just sent in our 1-751 package, and it should be received by USCIS on Monday. After looking at the general timeline of when people get their biometrics appointments scheduled, I’m worried about booking some upcoming travel we had in mind.

I am currently pregnant and due with our first child in October. We both want to have a vacation before then, specifically one with his parents in his native country. Although, he visits his friends and family in Mexico several times a year, I usually join him in December. Since that can’t happen this year and because we would like to have this time together (and to have this experience with his parents since they don’t travel a lot) before the baby comes, we are really trying to get something planned. We are looking at traveling mid-May to Cancun because it isn’t too hot yet and the rates are cheaper. Also, another big issue is that I personally do not want to be too far along in my pregnancy making this travel. I’ll be around 18-20 weeks during the time we’re considering booking a week.

I’m concerned that we will book the condo and the air travel though and then receive the biometrics letter giving us an appointment during that week. I’ve read about trying walk-ins, but is it really difficult to re-schedule and especially for a purpose such as this? Do they frown upon it and does it delay the process a great deal?

I told my husband the worst case scenario is we just have to wait until we receive the biometrics appointment date, but I can tell he is disappointed. But I did want to check and see if anyone here has some thoughts to share about it.

Thanks so much!

To my best believe and undestanding, i think you can do Walk in, cuz alotta people on this do walk ins to, in my opinon there is no need to reschedule the appointment, once you have your biometric notice, just go do walk ins.....The worse case is to get deny which is very rare, you really shouldnt be worried about the biometric appointment.beside they might not schedule you one till like the middle of april since you still gonna have to wait on NOA and all that....But GoodLuck tho.
