do we need to pay ELIS for minors who's eligible to become USC upon POE?

anyone who's gone through this???

Yes, according to what I've read, you need to pay the ELIS fee for each immigrant. I paid the fee for both my wife and stepson, we are traveling to the POE in May.

However, you shouldn't have to pay the naturalization fees for the minors, if they are eligible for automatic U.S. citizenship. For instance, if they have one parent who is a U.S. citizen, they are under the age of 18, and they are legally residing within the U.S. (green card) - they are instantly and automatically a U.S. citizen. I've read that if all three of things are true, you can bypass any other process and you can immediately apply for a U.S. passport for them.

04/07/2015 - Case shipped to local field office.

04/08/2015 - Interview scheduled for July 6, 2015.

04/08/2015 - Wifey better be studying her butt off for the citizenship test!

07/08/2015 - Wifey was studying her butt off and passed the test easily. Oath ceremony completed on same day! We are done with our journey!

as i was thinking, they won't be needing greencard for they are goin to be USC upon POE they fall under CCA 2000.

I'm not sure of the answer but I think you don't pay the fee. You'll know for sure when the visa is in hand, as then and only then will any such fee be requested.

like hers, spouse is a naturalized USC , minor(biological) will become USC upon POE under CCA 2000

this is her msg.

"In our case we did NOT pay the ELIS fee. This fee is for the green card. When she entered the US her visa got an I-51 stamp that functions as a green card for the first 12 months after she is admitted. Since she is already a citizen we "skipped" the green card step and applied for her passport a few weeks after she arrived.

If you want your immigrant family member to have a green card then you must pay the ELIS fee. Otherwise, they can still enter on their immigrant visa, but they will not get a green card until the fee is paid. Their only proof of legal status will be the I-51 stamp in the passport they used to enter the US."

Correction. It is an I-551 stamp, not I-51. Apply for a passport, not a green card. Do not pay the fee, BECAUSE it is for the green card, which is not needed for anybody eligible for citizenship upon entry.

This is related to our case on behalf of our two minor child thanks for sharing these information, even though i already pay that amount and now it is still in process so once their GC arrived i can go ahead to apply for their US passport?

You think i can do that now applying A US passport does not really matter?

You can apply for US passports, if they qualify for citizenship. You never needed to pay that fee or obtain green cards at all, in that situation. By "our two minor children" you mean the natural children of the US Citizen spouse, right??

We did the payment before they depart unfortunately the status of their case is now optimized and from my wife already had her GC 2 days ago do you think they still going to send that GC for my child if that so, so what am going to do with their GC, anyway weather we received it or not, for their case at this time they eligble to have US passport .okay for now i wouldn't pay attention about their GC whenever pro ably have an extra cash i would definitely apply US passport for them

So what happened to it the money will never be returned to us?

They don't return fees. I have no idea if they'll actually send green cards but they are actually US citizens already. The passport simply documents that.
