Anyone here experience filing I-90? Reason is: USCIS error

What are the supporting documents needed? How long is the process? Any advice

Hi Ann,

It's funny because I got on here after a long time to post a question about I90. I filed the form I-90 due to USCIS error. I had gotten my permanent GC in late Oct last year and as soon as I opened the envelope, I notice that they had misspelled my last name. They actually forgot to type the last alphabet (how convenient ) of my last name. I noticed the same mistake on the letter accompanying the GC. I went back to check my filing doc, and thankfully I had typed in my name correctly. Anyhow, if it's USCIS error then there is no fee. Here are the docs I had sent:

Original GC (the one with a typo)

Form I-90

Copy of my Driver's license (as evidence of my correct spelling)

Copy of my expired Conditional GC (they require evidence of a correct spelling/name).

I mailed the package to Vermont center (as instructed on USCIS website) on Nov 1st. I received an acceptance letter 2 weeks later and here I am in March and I haven't heard anything yet. The tracking time suggests 3.5 months so hopefully I'll get my card soon.
