Last year we fille married jointly...

The lady who fille our taxes told us that his debts to IRS will not become mine as well!

Now,I want to fille married jointly...I ask the lady from H&R Block, and she told me that I'll need to fille married separately ,not jointly...

So because of last year do I owe money to IRS as well?

Thank u all...

Way too confusing for me

If you filed jointly and owed the IRS money, that debt belongs to both. In any case, you are married, so any debt one has, belongs to the other as well.

So since I'm in process for naturalization...

There is a question asking if I owe money ?

My answer was no ...

Am I wrong?

As part of the naturalization process your taxes will be under scrutiny, so you're better off paying the taxes you owe, lest it delays your process.

Good luck!
