Hello everyone. I hope someone here has some new experience with the green card interview. My wife and I filed an AOS package at the end of September 2013 and still didn't receive any news about the date of interview. I've done my biometrics at the beginning of November and received my work permit in December.

When I check my case status I see the following:

Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview.

So, we are already waiting for almost 6 months without a call for an interview :/ Last year F2A category was current so maybe there were a lot of new requests for AOS and we are waiting so long because of that.

We are young couple in mid twenties from the same city in Europe so I doupt we caused some kind of suspicion... Does anyone here has any news how long are currently processing times for New York and what could cause such a delay?

Thank you.

I've arrived on J1 student visa and my wife (green card holder) decided to sponsor me because I belong to F2A category (spouse of legal permanent resident) which was "current" last year.

Have you tried calling them? Maybe they mailed you a letter and you never received it...

I didn't call them. I think they would write a date and post it on USCIS Case Status site like they've done with Biometrics and Employment Authorization Document. For each they wrote a date when it was sent.

uh - for your wife being an LPR,

you'd have to keep yer J1 status current. I'd focus on that, for the moment....

Call them. Seriously. That website is just a computer system and there's so many examples on here and other sites of things not being updated etc.

Because overstaying is forgiven for the USC spouses only.

Nobody never told me anything. I've done my biometrics after end of my status, received EAD, was in social security office and got my New York ID. My friend who is one of the better lawyers told me not to worry because F2A was "current" when we sent AOS so Green Card holders were equal to Citizens. They even sent me a call to join military.

yup yup - are you paying attention to the F2A retrogression patterns? IIWY, I'd be on the phone to an ISO at the USCIS call center, to ascertain exactly what's up.
