Obamacare, has anyone seriously looked into it.?

True, I was against it, I thought it was a flawed system and a poor plan to reinvent healthcare within the US.

I am a registered nurse.. I can work full time at a hospital and receive all the benefits that go along with full time employment with one employer. I can get paid time off, holiday pay, and I can get health insurance. Some days I would be required to float to an area outside of my expertise, fumble thru the day but still be held accountable to providing quality care even thou my employer knows that I have minimal training/experience in the area they may assign me to.

However, if I work part-time/prn (as needed) at several facilities this is what I get:. a higher salary, freedom to work at several facilities and not have the hassle of internal politics because I am only there 1 or 2 days a week, freedom to make my own schedule and work in the areas where I feel I can give the best care to the patients... and because of Obamacare, I have the freedom to choose and own my own healthcare plan that is not tied to my employer. so gone are the days of saying; oh #######, my employer cut my hours so I might loose my health insurance. Or, oh #######, Florida is a right to work state and they can terminate anyone for any reason and then I would loose my health insurance..

The insurance plans available at Obamacare.gov, seem to be affordable and inclusive of all medical conditions. They cover prescriptions, they offer plans which have a $ 25 co-pay for MD office visits. and of course they have the standard annual deductibles.. Those annual deductibles can be close to 10K or down to 4K depending on what plan you choose.

Bottom line, I can get comparable health insurance from Obamacare as I can get from my employer...

The open question is how much the government will pay towards that insurance plan...??

If I work as a freelance RN, I really do not know what my final annual salary will be. But in my application I entered my annual salary as earned from 2013.. Also, I am worried about at the end of the year, if my earned income is higher than I estimated, how will they collect the difference in monthly premiums that I have been paying all year.. and what happens if not enough people enroll and the insurance companies decide that they under billed everyone by a few hundred dollars every month.???

The only thing keeping me in a job I hated was health insurance, so i quit.

The only thing Obomacare looks at is AGI. You can have a zillion dollars in the bank and expense out everything, but if that AGI is low. LOL

I go a policy with a 400 dollar deductible. 90/10 co-insurance for my wife and I for about 97 per month

I had originally only signed up my wife, but VA care sucks so bad I came off it and signed up for Obama care.

I had a buddy having chest pains, it took him 2 months to get an appointment. I have been waiting on an eye exam 1 year.

They spent more than they take in..... In most cases the business model would fail.What if five years down the line a million nurses entered this country as undocumented democrats. The powers in washington gives them a pass..... For every nursing job you have 20 willing to work for less money than you do now . maybe for a 10th. the wage. Now you cannot even work 2 days a week and still you need to pay not 10,000 deducible but 20.000... Welcome to life in the future.
