My fiancé purchased my tickets at his brother's travel agency in Ca, BCD-MNL-LAX, will there be an issue for issuing tickets at a travel agency in USA for MNL-LAX flight? No need for a copy of credit card or something? The travel agent sent me a copy of my flights.

Thanks you guys. :)

Should be no problem, however you may want to call the airline and make sure she had a reservation

Also have your fiancee bring 1620 pesos (not sure how much now may be some of the member can provide you this info) for travel tax

since the ticket is issued outside Philippines

All she need is the itinerary or confirmation number

note: China Airlines does require verification if the credit card is not belong to the passenger unless paid in cash

this is only based on my own experience, since I work for the airline I always get ticket outside Philippines

I'm assuming your fiancee is flying via PAL since I don't see any lay-over

call PAL, USA 1-800-4-359-725 (24 hours), Manila (632) 855-8888

Hi, I am the beneficiary, my fiancé bought my airline ticket in the USA at his brother's travel agency in Ca, and yes I'm flying via PAL, my fiancé thought the travel tax is already included when he purchased my ticket at his brother's agency, the travel agent called the PAL and says I have to pay the travel tax (P1,620) and terminal fee from Manila (P750) at the airport. I printed the itinerary.

Thank you for the contact numbers, I was actually looking for the contact number of PAL for some questions regarding luggages. :) but since you're working for the airline I'll post my questions here lol. I have 2 check in bags. Is it 50lbs each bags? And still free? As long as it will not exceed to 50lbs each bags?

Pal's website is a great place to start your search on luggage requirements and fees. Here is the web address for Pal's "All about baggage":

http://www.philippineairlines.com/products_and_services/all_about_baggage/all_about_baggage.jsp

Fees are: Airport Users’ Charge of P750.00 and P1,620.00 for Filipinos who are not permanent residents in other countries.

Allow at least 3 hours to check in, pay your fees, travel through customs and immigration.

Good luck

I had used pal for my three trips to lax....I would like to share that the 2 free 50 lbs luggages are only good for Manila to lax flight....the domestic flight from bcd to Manila free luggage depends on the type of domestic ticket u purchased so if ur domestic ticket has 20 kilos free luggage, u will pay the excess luggage weight like 2 50 lbs is about 45 kilos more or less....so if u have 20 kilos free, u pay excess of 25 kilos ...and free hand carry bag or trolley weigh of 7 kilos.

For my sept 2013 flight from bcd-MLa-lax flight I was able to buy in advance 35 kilos excess weight for about 900 to 1200 php which is far cheaper than paying about 160 php per kilo when u check in for ur domestic flight....

Lastly when u check in from bcd u wil get ur luggages in lax already provided connecting flights are of the same day.

Enjoy ur remaining days in the Philippines and happy trip on ur flight.

Whether a copy of the CC is going to be needed is dependent on the airlines, some want to see a copy, some don't.

Whether a copy of the CC is going to be needed is dependent on the airlines, some want to see a copy, some don't.

Also depends where you purchase them. If he paid the travel agent, and not the airlines direct, then the airline need not worry about CC fraud, so they'll not ask as they don't even know if a card was used. If the agent ran the card through the airline's system, they may ask to see the CC or a copy. When I bought for my wife through Delta, travel tax was included and Delta made me go to an airport to show my card before my wife could travel.

My flight to lax is same day, same airline from Bcd , same airline reference (bcd-MNL -lax) I'll arrive Manila 4:10pm and my flight to LAX is 10pm. So I will not get my check in bags when I arrive in Manila right? I'll just wait for my flight and get my CFO sticker, pay travel tax and terminal fee? Edited by Jen90

I don't know about that one, I have read on here of tickets being purchased through expedia, etc. and the airline still asking to see the CC, that is pretty much the same as a travel agent. I still think it is more airline specific, and Delta is one that seems to ask more then others.

Yes if u have a connecting flight bcd Manila lax u don't have to get ur checked in luggage in Manila ...bcd pal will give ur international boarding pass when u check in ...call pal and ask the excess weight fee and definitely bring extra money for the excess weight.

I would usually get a morning flight bcd to Manila though I had friends who woul take the afternoon flight bcd Manila...pray for a clear weather on ur flight day...when u exit the plane look for the CFO table right away, pay travel tax and the airport fee...and wait in the predeparture area for ur lax flight.

With regards to whether pal would ask the CC used to purchase ur pal ticket...for ur peace of mind I would suggest ask a photocopy of the CC and one I'd of the CC owner like a drivers license ...cause I remember during one of my domestic flight MLa bcd, my sister bought my ticket and I was asked for her CC by the pal staff, good thing my sister gave me photocopy of her CC and her SSS I'd so I gave it to pal staff.

I am from bcd and I surely miss the place and the food...say hi to bcd from me.

Definitely airline specific. But I know with Delta, they know if you bought direct or from someone else. If you buy direct and the ticket is for someone other than you, they want the purchaser to show the credit card to one of their ticketing agents. Had I bought through someone else, they told me that wouldn't be required. BTW they say this was all to protect me from fraud, even though the max out of pocket could have been $50 and the cost to go to and pay parking at the airport exceeded that. laughing.gif

In addition to Netsikai's advice, try to make sure that each luggage would only weigh 23kg or 50lb each, as you would be asked to remove the excessive contents on the spot. They won' be added up as 1 entity, like in some domestic flights. Might be a good idea to bring a foldable small bag on your carry-on too, just in case.

If you're thinking of bringing another excess luggage, it should also be max of 23kg.

Definitely, bring a photocopy of your fiance's CC and any id (a passport biopage would do). Some airline staff can be picky.

Enjoy the Ilonggo delicasies while you're still home! And have a safe flight soon!! dancin5hr.gif
