CEMAR for CR1???

Does anyone have EXPERIENCE weither the USEM asked for a CEMAR during a CR1 interview??? I know that a CENOMAR is required for a K1....but Im looking for someone to tell me that they have been to an interview for a CR1 (or IR1) and were or were not asked for a CEMAR. I only ask because I've gotten mixed conjecture...and a CEMAR seems pointless in that we are already married....thanks....

I have read many posts on here of IR/CR-1 getting a 221g and having to go to NSO for a CENOMAR (CEMAR). I suggest to follow the embassy instructions letter to a "T" .

They are not K3 so that instructions letter is not correct.

Why would they need several copies of the CENOMAR (CEMAR) ?

For the Cenomar you need one to turn in and one for your own records.

For the CEMAR isn't it your certification of marriage? Marriage certificate

and wouldn't you use it for other purposes?

My wife has a copy of her CENOMAR but after the embassy/CFO BS no one cares to see it.

For the USA the normal marriage certificate works just fine.

Marriage Certificate is different from CEMAR.

Marriage Certificate - aka marriage contract, the one you and your spouse signed when you got married

CEMAR - married people's version of CENOMAR (certificate of no marriage); it is a document showing the list of your previous and/or current marriage. And it doesnt take time to obtain one

And doug/sherry...be aware that a local or normal marriage certificate is useless for any visa processes.....however, I see that you're on a K1 so.....

-proof that all previous marriages have been terminated = CENOMAR (CEMAR)

As others that have just done their interview posteed to you - the CENOMAR (CEMAR) is required by the embassy.
