Hi VJers!

My fiancee and I will (hopefully) be living in the U.S. and married before the end of summer, so I've started looking into what we'll need from Spain for her AOS -- I figure it's easier to get it while she's in Spain than trying to get it when we're in the U.S.

The main concern I have is regarding the vaccination requirements. My fiancee doesn't have immunization records (other than recent tetanus) but had her blood tested over Christmas to show that she has antibodies for everything required per the CDC website. We now have a letter from the village doctor as well as the lab results (in Spanish).

From everything I've read about the medical exam in Madrid, as well as email conversations I've had with them, they are VERY firm that the K1 visa is not an immigrant visa, therefore they will not review or collect her immunization information, offer any advice on such, and/or complete the DS-3025. Consequently, I do not see how the immunization information will be included in the medical exam packet that we will collect and take to the embassy for the interview, let alone be provided to USCIS as happens in some (most? all?) other countries.

I see two potential things we can do at this point and would appreciate feedback, particularly from anyone from Spain who has gone through the AOS process after coming to the US on a K1 visa (sorry, but I could not figure out how to just post this in the Spain portal :)).

Our plan:

1. Ask the village doctor to fill out the DS-3025. I am not sure if he'll do this as it's an official U.S. government form (in English), nor am I certain to what extent it will be accepted/useful to anyone in the U.S. since he is not a "panel physician" and that appears to be who the form is meant to be filled out by. At the least, perhaps it can be used by a Civil Surgeon in the U.S. to fill out the I-693 for us.

2. Have certified translations (into English) done for the lab results and the village doctor's letter. Use this information (combined with item #1 if the village doctor is willing) to have a Civil Surgeon in the U.S. fill out the I-693 for us.

Thanks for any feedback or guidance, especially if anyone has somehow been able to get a valid DS-3025 from Unidad Medica in Madrid, as they're the only location currently performing the medical exams.

At the medical they are going to ask her if dhe is going to make her vaccins there or at usa, she must say at spain, and they are going to give her the apropiate vaccines that she need.

And nobody cant fill out the form at the village, only the panel doctor that usa use at spain.

Around the world usa have their own panel doctor only them can do the medical exam and vaccinacions.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this is not how it works in Spain as I tried to explain in my original post.....that's why I have asked specifically for feedback and guidance from people who've gone through it there.

Good luck at your interview next month!

The DS-3025 is filled out by the doctor who conducts the medical at the facility the Embassy dictates.

She should bring all records including translations to that medical and they will hopefully transcribe them.

At worst, retake the vaccinations and be done with it.

The OP hasn't logged on to VJ since March 2015, but his timeline indicates that AOS/EAD/AP were received. Therefore, however he handled it was successful.
