Please sign my White House petition to speed up "immediate family" visa processing. http://wh.gov/lEkkG Only 100,000 signees required to get a response.

Do whatever is needed to speed up approval of "immediate relative" visas. +10 months is unacceptable!

Approval of "immediate family" visas for family of US citizens to immigrate to the US currently takes anywhere from 10 to 18 months from start to finish. The NYTimes says this is largely due to the current administration's deferential treatment of "undocumented immigrants" http://tinyurl.com/n662uzn. Surely US citizens paying thousands of dollars in visa fees should take precedence.

We say the administration should either place US petitioners at the front of the waiting list, or hire extra manpower to drastically reduce the wait time.

That's the other one. As you can see, it's going nowhere. These petitions pop up all the time and never gain steam. Hardly anyone outside of VJ knows what an I-130 is, and to the common person, any cry for help with immigration carries the automatic assumption it's for "illegal" immigration.

I too, once held hope in petitions, but they don't work. Sorry to be a Negative Nancy!

lets be more positive....i know that many of these exist, and don´t get anywhere....but 100,000 is not very many.....more than 100,000 people are waiting for I 130 approval RIGHT NOW. there are more than 100,000 VJ members....

my mom always said

These petitions used to require only 25,000 votes, but the administration found themselves actually having to answer to the electorate. Can't have that ...
