12/17/12. Previous editions accepted.

A new edition of this form is coming soon. In the meantime, customers may file using the 12/17/12 or other previous editions.

Wasn't sure if that comment itself hasn't been updated since before 12/31/2013 or what, hence the confusion.

I'm guessing it's absolutely fine, though -what version are other people using?

The expiration date of the form is not what matters. It is the edition date that does. The edition available to download on the USCIS website is the most current. That also does not matter because all previous editions are accepted, if someone happened to have an older edition of the form besides the one currently available for download.

It says it expired Dec. 31st, there's no newer version right now.

That date means a required review by the OMB in compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act. They allow public comment and make a final decision. It could result in a changed form or keeping the same.

Here's notice of public comment as an example of the review process

https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/12/09/2013-29339/agency-information-collection-activities-affidavit-of-support-form-i-134-extension-without-change-of

This form was submitted to review requesting no change. It will eventually get a new OMB date saying when the next review is due.
