So i just came from Pennsylvania driving center place and told me that if i get a licence it will only be valid until my i-94 is valid !!?? and that is going to be the 12 of March !

WHat can i do after that ??? Any of you have gone through that experience ... All this travelling from place to place trying to find answers is wearing me out..

I am really tired of this non sense paperwork .

Wait until you get married and have your EAD on hand and then get your US driver's license. In the meantime use your Canadian DL. It sucks but that is the least complicated way and will save you several trips to the DMV.

All states differ, but TN is the same way. It will only be valid until the visa expires, and then when you get your green card you have to go back and get a regular license.

We had the experience of walking in with hubby's green card, Alberta driver's license and was told we needed a MVR (driver's abstract)
We had his brother go get that for us and mail it. We go back to the DMV with every piece of paperwork we thought we'd need, but his passport, to be told they had to see his I-94 in his passport... DMV people are ridiculous.

Don't get me started on the headache it was to register his imported vehicle....

The DMV is not ridiculous.

Why would anyone need a US driver's license beyond their authorized time in the US? I presume many visa overstays would love to get a DL that lasted longer than their authorized time in the US. This is why many states have this rule.

With a pending AOS, then it's a different matter since the person is authorized to stay until the AOS is adjudicated.

I am already married . What happens is that our insurance company for our cars is requring DL from PA !!

At this point the best you can do is either present them with your papers as proof you are seeking your residence in the US and try and convince them to give you a deal or continue to drive with your Canadian DL and insurance until such time when you get your EAD and a PA DL.
