My petition went through a short period of "administrative processing" at the NVC stage. CEAC never said this, but the man I spoke to on the phone told me it was in AP. within a couple days, it was on to the next stage of things. I wouldn't worry. It's likely that it's getting logged. You can also email the embassy and ask. If, after a few days, it's still in AP, then ask questions. Also, Paddington bear is correct. If you post a separate thread, you'll get much more than if you just ask here. :)

Thank you so much for your help! It helps to know that our visa is not the only one. If it is more than a few days I will start a separate thread. Thanks again.

We just filled out DS-160 and when we came across the question asking for our receipt number, we looked through forums on here to find out. Some people put the case number from USCIS, some put their case number from NVC. They both seemed to work. We put USCIS case number and it didn't give us an error message. Does anyone else have any input on this?

If it said RECEIPT number, we used our initial filing receipt # from NOA1. (WAC*********)

If it said CASE number, we used out case # given by NVC (MTL**********)

Makes sense to me! Although I don't remember being asked for our case number, just the receipt number.

Has anyone else been reading up on what the AOS process will be like? I like to be prepared, but man thats overwhelming! It makes the K-1 seem easy. I am scared :)

And what is the deal with all the passport photos? The beneficiary will need MORE for AOS. Andre joked that he is just going to get 22,000 and hope that will be enough LOL

Then, just before 2 years of marriage,we have to remember to do ROC or our husbands/wives could be set for a removal hearing.

Oh well, nothing worth having is easy and I couldn't imagine being with anyone else in my life....but man they make you work hard for it!

Haven't posted here lately.. Good to hear that things are speeding up for our Feb filers who have been approved!

Feeling very frustrated today, my previous US employer (I still work for the same company, just at a Canadian location) has an opening and wanted me to fill it, however, because I don't have a more accurate time frame as to when I will be approved and can apply for my EA they are more than likely not able to keep the position open. ugh.

Hey everyone! I've tried calling the Department of State Visa Specialist Unit to see if I can get my interview date (rather than waiting for my interview letter). My case status via CEAC 'changed' this Monday, and I think that means they've assigned me an interview. However, when I call the number provided - (202) 485-7600 - it's just an information line and there doesn't seem to be any way to actually speak to anyone!

Any ideas?

I posted a separate thread asking this before (no one answered!) because the London Guides say that DoS no longer handles K1 cases, and that number doesn't work. They said, instead, to call the NVC...but I was wondering if the NVC would know our interview dates!

Since no one answered, I am not sure. But I would think that NVC could either tell you OR point in the direction of who can! Let me know how it goes :)

9/18/14 EAD approved--Electronic Notification

That's exactly what the advisor told me - that they don't handle K1 cases any more, and they gave me the NVC number (+1 603 334 0700) to call. He did say that it'll say 'line busy' a lot, but to keep trying and I'll get into the queue eventually. So there is a way!

I'm determined to get this interview date. It's really important I get it sooner rather than later, as it dictates basically all the family plans! I'll be flying out almost as soon as I get my visa (probably a week after the interview) - and it'd be so nice to actually have a better idea.

I'll keep trying and let you know! Thanks for your help! :)
