USCIS "My Case Status" site screwed up?

Hi there. My I-130 was approved on January 31, 2014. When I go into the USCIS My Cast Status site, and try to sign on to my case, here is what I get:

My Case Status
Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
  • Your account has been locked for one of the following reasons:
    (1) Account inactivity.
    (2) Too many unsuccessful login attempts.

My account has CERTAINLY not been inactive! And, no one else has my ID and password, and I have not had unsuccessful attempts. I have tried both with IE and Firefox, and both are giving me the same message.

If I type in my MSC receipt number, it will give me the "Post Decision Activity" page.

Does this happen after your I-130 has been approved, and your file shipped to NVC? Or is this a real issue?

That happened to me several times. I think the USCIS periodically makes you change your password, although it doesn't explictly say that. Try changing your password and make sure you use a different password from the last one. That should do the trick!

Same happened to me as well (several times through the process). As others mentioned, I just changed the password and it went back to working as expected.

I changed my password and got back on the site. VERY disconcerting, though!
