School shootings and shootings period are a problem, do you not agree? School shootings are something we can fix. Sorry, for what happens outside of the school are for the police to fix.

Again, I will take the VATICAN stance that I cannot be responsible for individuals crimes, so bringing up what some black person has done, waaaayyyy on the opposite side of the U.S. where I am not does not prove anything.

School shootings are done by more than one race. Sorry you feel like this post is imposing on white people. Although white people commit the most mass shootings at school, shootings at school are still done by different races although not on a massive level.

You are the one taking offense, not me. My question still remains, which by the way you did not answer, if parents were to be allowed corporal punishment, would this make a difference? As we all know, CPS is in everyone's business and if a child has a scratch, the kids get taken away and the parents are put into jail.

So you do not think schools can make a difference? Schools see the kids most of the day. That is why it is important to actually have people at the schools who actually care to make a difference in the kids life.

The problem is kids are roaming the streets after school because the kids are at school for less hours than the parents are at work.

Erm............not that I disagree that children are often unsupervised. But those same kids are probably ignored when Mom (or Mom and Dad or whomever) are home from work.

The school system is not a baby-sitter. Now if you want to talk about modifying the educational calendar so it fits modern day life, rather than a 100 year old agrarian system, then that would be modernisation.

The problem I had was with the white people who were celebrating one more black would have been n#### thug is off of the street. No one should celebrate the death of another, especially if they are underage.

I would however celebrate the death of a rapist and murderer. But that kid was neither. I would have been upset regardless of the color. But black people, at least the ones I know, do not celebrate Columbine or Connecticut or the Mansons.

Here's what you're missing:

A punk white kid would never go through what TM did. When was the last time someone called in a suspicious looking white teen, followed them, got into a confrontation, and then killed him in self defense? It doesn't happen, not here. People handle situations depending on whose involved. Look at this, George Zimmerman is famous for killing someone, not a criminal in an act of crime, but walking home from the store. TM is considered a thug, it's a word that only reserved for black teens and men who wear saggy pants. By all accounts JB should be called a thug, but he's not. He does drugs, sags his pants, cusses out cops and breaks the law.

I'm not saying you haven't seen racism, I'm pointing out that the rules are clearly different for people of color versus white people.
