Fiance's Social Security Card Vs I-765

So my Fiance can't work with his social security card alone right?

He will receive it in two weeks...

What exactly does the I-765 allow him to do (only work) with or without social?

Or it's allowing him to work for a longer period of time rather than the social security card?

SS card/number alone is not sufficient. Must have EAD.

When starting work, he will have to complete an I-9 form with employer that estipulates providing proof of being allowed to work. SSN alone is not sufficient.

I-765 gives him permission to work

SSN will be required by any employer so they can report his wages to the Internal Revenue Service for tax purposes as well as credit his payments into Social Security for future retirement and Medicare benefits.

He needs both to work legally.

Do you know the average time it takes to get the EAD once we submit the Change of Status Forms?

What are possible RFE's for the EAD or Travel Permit?

Or you mean if we get an RFE for the COS; that will delay the EAD and Travel Permit too?

The prevailing opinion is that an RFE on the I-485 delays all the other dependent applications also.

My EAD was approved in 63 days, got it in hand about a week afterwards. Quite recent, all happened in Jan so ought to be a good guide.
