Hi people, can somebody help me please. we have to apply for a permanent green card in March, but my child (13) is being bad and I decided to send her to her father in Europe for few months. Does she need to be here in usa to apply for a permanent green card od can I do it alone, or even don't apply for her?thanks for answering

Are you a US citizen or a Green Card Holder?

First, you have to file i130 at USCIS. After approval of the i130, the case will go to NVC. When NVC has scheduled an interview date, your daughter will be interviewed at the US Embassy in her home country. If all goes well during the interview, she will be issued an immigrant visa. Once she has the visa, she can fly to the US.

The entire process can take more or less a year if you are a US citizen. A bit longer if you are a GC holder.
