-Applying in London as a Romanian citizen but lived in the UK for 4 years.
-In first year of university in UK for pharmacy (good paying career in UK). I have 3 more years of university after this year. I'll get a letter from school stating I'll be back after summer break in september 2014 to continue year 2. I also will be in $25k (£15k) in debt for this year of study which I owe to UK government if that matters any, should I show papers confirming this or something?
-I have over $6k+ in the bank at the moment and will receive another $5k for loans so I have plenty of money for the vacation (I don't spend much money where I am).
-19 Years old.
-Parents live in UK, I'm their only daughter/no siblings.
-No relatives/friends in USA.
-I rent a place but it's a monthly to monthly basis so no long term contract but we get hand written receipts from landlord when we pay with cash(It's shared with my boyfriend who is an American citizen :/ and both of our names are on the rental agreement). In my bank statement you could see monthly withdrawals (usually unless I had cash on hand) for half the rent.
-Want to go visit Florida (Orlando and Miami/keys) for 4 weeks during summer (Disney land, beaches, etc), I'll have a paper listed with the dates and places I want to be.
-Friends had the idea and they might go so I really want to go. BF also said he might go but not sure because of school (he's doing dentistry). If no one else goes I'd still like to go alone. If they ask who I'm going with what should I say since I'm not sure yet? Is it likely they'll ask who I'm going with?

What would be my chances of being granted a B2 visa for this summer? When should I apply because it's possible I could get a 6 month visa which might be expiring near the time I want to go, so should I wait a month or so? Thanks very much.

Your ties to the UK seem pretty strong, especially your attending University. You're also seeking a short time in the US, that's good. Proof of funds to pay for your trip, also good. The two things against you are your age and that you're single. All in all I think your chances would be pretty good.

Good luck.

What about my boyfriend that I live with that is a us citizen?

Should I say I'm single as I'm not married or anything?

Should I say I'm going alone as I don't know if anyone will be coming with me for sure yet?

Thank you very much for responding

My guess is that your US citizen bf would be considered a tie to the US rather than the UK.

You should always tell the truth, but you don't need to volunteer any information that isn't asked for.

Alright thank you very much. If they ask who I'm going with though should I say alone though as I'm not sure? That's the only thing I'm unsure about.

You say "I'm not exactly sure yet, I may be going alone".

You will most likely be questioned about the who, what and where of your trip by US border patrol at point of entry. You will want to know these answers factually at that point. make sure you have a printed itinerary and a dated return ticket home.

Could I be rejected by the US border patrol if I don't have booked hotels just a plan of where I am going (like what cities on what dates) and a return ticket?

Yes, you could be. If I were you, I would have a planned itinerary with hotel reservations. If you're planning on going with your boyfriend and staying with his family, you'll want to tell the truth about that.

Oh damn, because if my bf did have time in summer he would sort out where to stay (his family/friends). Would this cause trouble if he did end up going with me?

Also if I change any details from my visa interview to the us border patrol like how long I want to stay or any destinations I want to go to will that matter?

Thanks

You can apply for your visa now, then if you get it, make a solid plan for a trip. Yes you can change plans from the time you get your visa and the time you actually take the trip. I think you should get your plan of action set before you attempt to enter the US.

Would there be a problem with having no hotels if my boyfriend went as he'd sort free housing out? Even though it's not for sure he could come should I just say it in the interview that I might stay at his friend's/family to make sure I have no problem at border control or will border control not have a problem with this if this ends up being the case but I didn't say it in the interview?

Thanks so much just stressing a bit as I don't want to throw away $160 and then possibly a plane ticket.

They are not going to ask you detailed plans of your trip at your visa interview, they are simply going to decide if you qualify for one. Do not purchase a ticket or make trip plans until you have your visa in hand.

Why not make some hotel reservations for at least some of he trip (most are cancelable up to 1-2days before) so you have some sort of itinerary to present? Also, you can't say that you don't have friends/family in the USA to get the visa then say yo are staying with friends/family. If you are planning on doing couchsurfing or Airbnb, you can tell them that.. But I would have a general "ininerary" in mind... You do NOT have to follow it, but you don't want to enter looking like a grifter without a plan of what you want to see... That would be suspicious IMO...

Alright thanks so much.

So border control wouldn't have a problem with me staying at bf's friends/family?

Also should I get a letter from bf just in case they ask about him stating he's doing dentistry and has 4 more years here (and his parents are in the UK too) so there's no way he'd leave the UK now either?

I think it is better to leave him out of the process as much as you can... Having a USC boyfriend is a negative in your case... If asked, don't lie, but as Teddy said, dont volunteer the info if you don't have to... IMO
