Filipina wife will become Canadian citizen soon

Hi everybody,

I have been posting on these forum boards for over 6 months now.

I am in the middle of my spousal visa application waiting for a invoice number at the NVC.

So my wife and I are probably 4-5 months away from getting her permanent resident visa.

To make a long story short we were married in March of 2012. I then moved to Canada from March to June 2013 with the intention of immigrating but we decided it would be better for us to live in the states. So I moved back to the states and submitted our spousal visa application in July, 2013.

Earlier in October 2012 my wife who is a Filipina citizen and a permanent resident of Canada applied for her Canadian citizenship. She was considering abandoning her Canadian citizenship if she didnt get correspondence before immigrating here. Today she got a notice to take her citizenship test on Feb 4. She really wants her citizenship in Canada. And I want it for her too.

I am 99% sure that she can get her green card without any problems but I cant find anywhere to read about foreign dual citizens getting PR status in the US.

Also I am nervous the Montreal embassy will give my wife a hard time or delay our visa application for her green card.

I would appreciate any advice or guidance on where to find information or how to proceed from here.

This is not an issue for the US Spousal Visa process.

September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!

September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated

July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
