Here's what I do. I have a velcro strap that fits around my leg, above the knee.

When I drop trou i put it around my leg, run the metal clip in my carrier through it, and unbutton the top latch on the carrier.

I put this on my left leg, as I shoot right handed. For me, it's perfect position, and the gun doesn't move as I cleaning up my backside.

If I can't draw the weapon in time, I can , at least, raise my left knee a bit and shoot , usually hoping for a gut shot.

Thanks!

I bet a CAT would work well in that instance. And Id always have a tourniquette on me as well. Hmm.

Any other suggestions, folks?

But I DO know that. Only an obtuse person would think otherwise. Reckon all the gang bangers would give up their guns if congress ruled that guns are illegal?

Its all about goals. You cannot deal in absolutes. Do you want more guns in the hands of criminals or less?

Lucky for you you get that choice. As do the gun toters. Isn't the US great?

The choice to own a gun? I don't live in the USA...

As I see it the US is either more dangerous than the UK or the level of fear among US citizens massively outstrips the likelihood of being victimised.

Never needed a gun, never been victimised, not afraid of it.

You nailed it right there.

Of course I want less. Do I see that ever happening? No. Even in countries where guns are not allowed, criminals have them, because they opt to not follow the laws the rest of us do.

You nailed it right there.

Did he? Are YOU living in fear? I'm not, and I am a USC.

Oh yeah....

Yeah but they likely get those guns from someone who bought them in accordance with the law. Decrease the amount of guns being bought and you will ultimately decrease the amount of guns in circulation and then gun crime.

Ever been to Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Iraq? The locals don't have weapons for the most part. But the bad guys surely do. And the civilian population KNOWS their lives are in danger daily at the whim of said bad guys.

Take away 10 million guns from normal citizens in the USA, and the bad guys may have to work harder to get them, but they will get them.

Ms. Venezuela died because she DIDN'T carry an insurance policy against an armed assailant.

This is pure speculation on your part, of course. People carrying guns are killed by other people carrying guns each and every day in this country. Carrying a gun does not effectively insure one against death by gunfire. Based on stats, having a gun actually makes one more likely to die from gunfire.

Yes, he did. I don't live in fear, I don't own any guns. Are you having the same conversation as the rest of us?

Please tell me you didn't just compare gun control in the US to that of war zones in the middle east.

To be fair, I don't know that you can make a direct comparison to what's going on there to whats going on here. I think we can all agree that drugs are the largest driving factor of the of gun violence. That's not the driver there. And I'd like to think our Govt is a bit more stable than anything ending in "stan"

90% of the gun fear in the "stans" revolves around drugs. Opium farming is done at gunpoint. The dealers have guns, the farmers don't. dealer wins, 99% of the time.

I only speculate that she COULD have fought back... and perhaps there would be one less bad guy in the world, even if she died.

So you're suggesting the only reason people aren't forced into cultivating drugs here is because our would be farmers have guns?

Okay but what you said initially was something different. Specifically, you stated that:

Ms. Venezuela died because she DIDN'T carry an insurance policy against an armed assailant.

That statement clearly suggestes that she would not be dead had she carried a gun. It does not say at all that she merely could have fought back. But even the latter is pure speculation.
