Hello VJ members. Back in july of year 2013, my wife had received her 10 year greencard. I know that for the next 10 years, my wife can file for citinship at anytime. What I would like to know is if I am right about my wife can file the n-400 application at anytime. Her date on her greencard said May 2, 2023 which is her expired greencard date. I know I can file within 90 days of may 2nd but I can file at anytime and if I want to file for her next year, do I still have to file within 90 days or can I file anytime. thank you all vj members.

Once you hit the first day of the 90 days, you have the whole validity of the green card to apply for naturalization. It's not a yearly thing USCIS goes by. I hope I helped. Good luck.

Once your eligibility window is open, you can apply at any time during the validity period of the green card. Or you can not apply at all, just renew your green card every 10 years and live the rest of your life as a permanent resident. Applying for citizenship is strictly voluntary.
