I am in the process of filling out the paperwork for my parents (I-130). My son currently lives with them there( he is a US citizen and was there with them for the past year). I would like to know if it is possible to apply for a visitor visa for my father as well. I wanted to bring him here because my son is used to being with him. Would that cause a problem if i bring him on a visitor visa as well as applying for him with the I-130.???

hi

you cannot apply for a tourist visa for him, he has to do that on his own and based on his own merits. he will have to show strong ties to his country and why he has to return.

so probably he won't get it, especially if you have filed for him, they'll tell him to wait until he gets his visa

Filed I-130 for mother and father (separately)

Filed on June 25, 2013

Received an NOA letter dated July 02, 2013- they have received my petition

Received an NOA letter dated December 13, 2013- they have approved both of my petitions

Currently, my parents are waiting for their letters in order to know their Medical exam and Interview schedules...

So, Sukhjeevan, in my opinion, I would rather petition both parents on I-130 as long as they are your biological parents, it shouldn't take long.

Cheers to us...
