So...we are starting the long path to get my wife's daughter moved over here too. I, or course, be relying on my VJ family for help. I will be filing an I-130 after my wife completes her AOS, (I guess she will be the one filing.) What type of visa should we be looking to get for her daughter? IR2 or F2? These visa categories will be the end of me I'm sure...;)

If you file the i130 as the step-parent, child will be IR2.

If mom files the i130, child will be F2A.

Better to chase the IR2. File now.

Great!! Thanks much for your response. As I asked before, follow-to-join benefits can't be applied here? She was not named on the original I-129F due to my our attorney being...um...what's the word? Useless!!
