When we received our NOA2 in the mail a few weeks ago it said that it was a "courtesy copy" of the notice. We know that the official copy went to our attorney. Our attorney has not been very communicative with us (we wish we had just done the process ourselves, not knowing of VJ at the time that we filed)....Anyway our question is do we need to get the official copy from our attorney or does the courtesy copy have the information we need to file AOS when the time comes? Anyone know about this?

I STRONGLY suggest you get the Original. If lost and not the Original is a replacement cost about $400.00 USD I read before. I was actually wrong thinking No Big Deal on a Post years ago. There is no need for your Represent to have the Original. It is YOURS. GET THAT DOCUMENT and let them have the Copy.

I can't quite recall if you need the NOA2 of the K-1 for AOS, but I'd say to get the original asap, demand it formally from your attorney with certified written communication, it belongs to you. In the meantime, the copy should have any info you would need. Most importantly, some of the info you will need for the consular interview is in the NVC notice that will get you the case number that is what you will use at the Embassy stage. Make sure you get that one as well.

Thank you both for your replies. I've contacted my attorney and asked that he send me the original copy of the NOA2. He said it's identical to ours, only it's addressed to him at his law office....but I still asked to have it for my records. Thank you again.
