Hi all,

A few miscellaneous Diversity Visa questions:

1. I sent all my documents to the Kentucky Consular Centre last year. Is there some way I can email to check that they have arrived? Also, there are a few minor changes to be made to the documents, e.g. change of address for American contact, and extra qualification that I have received in the interim. Is there some place I can email to make those minor changes?

2. Is it possible to apply for a Spousal Visa at the same time as a Diversity Visa? I am applying for jobs in the United States starting in September 2014. My partner and I were thinking of applying for a Spousal Visa some time around January-February (it typically takes about eight months to process) in case the Diversity Visa doesn't come through.

3. Is is possible that the DV numbers are especially low this year? I'm from Oceania and my number is in the 1200s - so not particularly low or particularly high. For the last ten years, Oceania has always gone Current by September, so I'm really hoping that this is not going to be the year when it doesn't!

Thanks!

Which DV lottery did you win ? Because of rumors of DV lottery going away for immigration reform more people may move on being winners. Yes you can have a DV and spousal visa in the works at the same time. One of the Nigerian members actually had both interview scheduled in the same month ( he chose the DV visa so as not to need the I864 )

I was selected for DV-2014. Good to know that I can apply for both Visas concurrently. Do you think, though, that the fact that the DV may be coming to an end would make people more likely to take it up? That suggests that, in previous years, people have been not taking it up on the possibility that they might win it again in subsequent years, which seems unlikely.

That is what confused me, you seems to spam too much time to be doing DV . There have been people that have won and decided that the US sucks enough at the moment that they will not do the DV when they won it ( not sure if they think they can just win again ) Because of immigration reform rumors less people are turning their back on a winning. Oceania is currently only at 550 so you have a while to wait.

Contacting KCC: If you need to contact the KCC, always refer to your name and case number exactly as they appear on your original Selectee Letter. Your case number should be clearly written in the upper right hand corner of all documents and correspondence sent to the KCC. The KCC telephone number is 606-526-7500 (7:30am until 4:00pm EST), or send an E-mail inquiry to KCCDV@state.gov.
