Hello to all,

We are in proces for K1 visa. Can we fill up I-134 form after we receave the instruction from the Embassy? The problem is that this form is expire at 31st of December and I am not sure? Should we wait when they will update the form because probably my interview will be JAnuary orFebruary?

Hope that make a sence!

Regards, C

Good Question! I would like to know the answer to this also. I had not thought of that!

However, my logical answer would be to say that it WILL be ok to fill the form out in its current edition. The reason for this is two fold:

- In order to schedule an interview in the first place, you more often than not (depending on embassy) have to submit a final 'readiness' form. This tells the embassy that you have ALL of your required documents and evidence and are ready for the interview (they will not even schedule it without receiving this form) so in order to schedule and interview, it is assumed that you have your I-134 Affidavit of Support also. Which would be now in its current edition, not January. Because if you fill it out in Jan, you technically don't have all your papers now to send the readiness form.

-Secondly, most of the forms say "we accept editions of this form up to (date)" this "date" usually if not every time, includes the previous edition.

So I would say I'm 99% sure that you will be ok filling out the current edition of the form. I have :) and I'm waiting for my interview to be scheduled now after sending my readiness form. So it BETTER be ok! Haha!

The edition date is what matters, not the expiration date. Whatever edition is available for download on the USCIS site is the current version. Also, as stated above, the USCIS site for the form will state what is the current edition of the form and whether or not previous editions are accepted.
