Well, we got this notification on the USCIS website: On February 28, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

But I'm not sure what these instructions will be for us to do and if he doesn't really have it yet. (also not sure about this ADIT processing) So I wanna wait and see the NOA before I confirm for sure! Hopefully we'll get it tomorrow!

It's official! While we still haven't gotten the notice in the mail, we got a new update on the web that said that on March 5, 2007 they mailed a notice stating the the I-485 application was approved!

I am absolutely flabbergasted that it took this quickly!! I thought it would be months down the line - not a a month a half!! (I am not complaining though!) :thumbs:

Let's just hope that the green card is printed quickly. I spoke to SSA, and they won't print him a new SS card until he receives the green card, which is just so annoying. He is legally permitted to work now, it's just up to the discretion of the employer on whether they want to hire him or not. (since his ss card has the "valid for work with dhs authorization" thing)

Has anyone gotten around that while waiting for the green card to be printed up?
