Need help with SSN, K-1 is about to expire

The K-1 visa flowchart says to apply for an SSN then get married but we accidently did the opposite. I got confused with the steps and thought you were supposed to apply for the SSN after the marriage, so now there are 2 weeks left of the 90 days on the K-1 visa date marked in her passport. Do we still run down to the SSN office and try to apply for one? I am really worried she will not get a SSN and we also need a work permit...

Nope, you are now too late to get a SSN based on the K-1. You will need to apply for AOS and once she gets her EAD, she can get a SSN.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
