You only need one of them. Also, have you seen the poverty guidelines, so you know what numbers you'll be looking for?

Yeah I knew the poverty line was around $19K for a sponsors household being 2.

But in reality they each earn enough money to sponsor themselves. In reality they would be ''sponsoring us'' but only 1 needs to apply to do it.

1. you are the primary sponser, even if no income in the USA. No way round it. You file 1 I-864 for yer wife.

2. you can choose whoever you want to use as a joint sponser. They fill out another I-864 on your wife.
