So I was anticipating my wife's visa to take so long. Due to the government shut down there were minor delays. We began the process in April, while I was still on active duty in the Air Force. I just separated from the Air Force and moved to California. Unfortunately her interview date was scheduled after my separation date, and is in early December. I have a new job, but none of that is in my records, because when I was submitting everything through the USCIS and NVC I will still employed and on active duty in the Air Force.

I'm just worried about when they start asking her questions at the interview, as none of my records reflect my new position. Anyone have any advice or suggestions on what to do? I'd hate for her to get all the way to Tokyo for her interview, only to be denied a visa because I finished my enlistment contact, and began a new job. Should I have my new boss fill out a memorandum/letter stating my monthly salary, and showing that it is above poverty?

Yes that would be a good idea. Have updated I-864 and letter of employment. Will you have been paid by her interview so she can take a checkstub?

You should have no issues since you went from a secure paid job right to another job so you are showing good job history.

But do have that updated information for her.
