hello,

i have a question..

we filed i-130 in france and I: american citizen moved back to america, so I was trying to change address.

I tried to do it online, but I couldn't. ( didn't allow me to put oversea address at previous address)

so i called to change address on the phone as what it says on USCIS website.

she told me " I have to contact U.S embacy in paris to change my address. "

I was like ??? I changed my husband address by writing letter to overland park Kansas which our application is at now, I GUESS. ( our number starts MSC )

I explained how i changed my french husband address and i asked why i can't change mine here in America but France?

she said " it is because they can pull out information and able to change"

I don't really think our i-130 application is in France? they have our information overthere?

I am confused.

if anyone filed from abroad, and changed usc's address, please share your experience.

I was trying to change mine cuz i thought maybe they transfer ours to California service center.

whoa - you filed the I-130 via DCF into Paris and then moved back to the USA ?

Allowed, but as far as changing the address with USCIS Paris - I say - don't worry about it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

there is no more DCF in france. so our i-130 went to overland park.

late august I moved back to U.S

early last month, I changed my husband address by sending a letter to overland park as USCIS officer told how to change his address, now it is showing his address changed on uscis site.

i know it is not urgent to change mine but i thought they ganna transfer to C.A, then it would be faster approval.

anyways..thank you for reply!

:)

Hi,

We had the same kind of problem. My husband (US citizen) filled from the UK where he was living (not DCF cause he was a student) and we wanted to change the address this summer as he moved in France, and now he's going back to the US. We read that it was difficult to do this and not the best way, because in this case we can't be "expedited" (even though now it seems impossible). They also refuse to change the address from a foreign country to another foreign country, they would have forced us to put a US address. So you could do this by calling USCIS (and tell them you are not filling through DCF) and they will change it. But if you want to keep the tiny probability to be expedited (fingers crossed), you should keep your foreign address until NOA2 (after NOA2, it's also easy to change the address).

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.
