Hi everyone! My family had an interview last June 2013. We received 221g form. I am the Principal applicant. We need to submit Proof of Passing the NCLEX (for me) and Police Clearance from Qatar (for my husband). They got hold of my passport and my 2 kid's passport. In August 2013, we submitted the Proof of passing the NCLEX via 2GO and a letter to the Consular Officer that we already sent the documents needed to obtain a Police Clearance in Qatar, explaining to them that we haven't receive any update re: Police Clearance. We checked the CEAC and it was on "Ready" for 3 months. Last week of October it was changed to AP---both for me and my husband. My kids status are still on"Ready". This November, I received an email from the Embassy, another 221g form. This time they need us to submit New Medical Report from St. Lukes for all of us. It expired last September 2013, and the Police Clearance from Qatar. Regarding the Police Clearance, it's been more than 3 months that has passed and unfortunately, we still don't have the Pol. Clearance. I am scheduled to collect our passports at the Embassy because it is needed in the Medical Exam. My concern is, I'm wary that if we have another Medical Exam, the waiting time for the Police Clearance is so consuming and almost ---futile as of this time. We're afraid it will reach to the point of another expiration of our Medical report. Even the Embassy cannot provide us the telephone numbers of the Department in Qatar that they had provided us after the interview, where we could follow up our Pol. Clearance. My question is: since I am the Principal applicant, is it possible that the Consular Officer will consider the processing of my Visa (assuming that we'll undergo for our 2nd Medical exam) without my husband's Police Clearance? I will really appreciate if you could reply to my queries. Thank you very much.

When did you do your medical ? It's only 3 months from June to Sept 2013 and your medical already expired. For Qatar police clearance this site may be useful: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/mid-east/qatar.asp

There have been cases when the visa was issued to some family members and some were left behind so it may be possible for you since you are the principal applicant. Keep us updated and good luck.

Mellow, Thank you for the reply. We had it started in March 2013. One of the family member has to undergo sputum exam first. We waited 2 months for the result. It was negative and that's why we had our vaccination and interview in June 2013. I'll be going to Embassy next week to pick up our passports and I will try to inquire if it's possible that they will "consider" to conclude the processing of my visa without or while we're waiting for my husband's police clearance. Thank you for the link on how and where to obtain the Police clearance. The contact number in your link will be very helpful! The US embassy's link that was given to us has different address. I will update you. Thank you so much.

Hello Everyone: This is an update. I went back to the Embassy last November 2013 to pick up our passports. At Window 38, I told the Embassy staff that I'm there to pick up our passports since we need to have a new medical report. (Our first medical examination report has expired last year). I talked with the staff regarding my intention that the processing of our visas (me and my two daughters) be processed first because we're still waiting for my husband's police clearance from Qatar. (it;s been six months now but we haven't receive any police clearance from Qatar). At the Embassy, I was instructed by the staff at window 38 to write a letter (handwritten) addressed to the The Consular Officer regarding my intention to go ahead with processing without my husband since I am the Principal Applicant (E3 Skilled Workers). Me and my two daughters had our NEW medical report submitted to the Embassy last February 18, 2014. After 24-hours I updated my case status it's still in AP (with current date). I called the Visa Hotline and inquired and reiterated about my status and intention to appear to the Embassy on the next day to follow up personally re: my case. (Note: I don't have an appointment schedule at the embassy but I was trying to push my luck if it's possible to go there as walk-in client. Since I'm waiting for my scheduled flight back to my Province that week, I took this opportunity). After an hour that we talked over the phone, someone from the embassy called me ( for the first time) that I need to submit my new NBI Clearance. It has expired. Fortunately, I brought with me my new NBI clearance. Last February 21, 2014, I went to embassy and submitted my NBI Clearance at Window 38. I told the staff that how come my status is still on AP after the SLEC has submitted our medical reports and 3 passports. She told me that it's because I have missing document which was the new NBI clearance. I hope and pray that after we submitted all the documents that they needed we will be given a visa. As of the moment, my case status is still on AP. I don't know how much time we should wait again. Hopefully, we'll not have our 3rd Medical Examination! Regarding my husband's police clearance, he plans to go to Qatar personally just to get that Police Clearance. If anybody here has experienced on how to obtain a police clearance from Qatar without personally going there, please share with us. It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
