Unless its recently changed, the travel tax, like the airport tax, is not included in the ticket price.Upon check-in for your particular airline, you will be escorted by someone, who will take you to an office where you pay the travel tax, then you will get a receipt for it, you will then be escorted back to the airline check-in to finish processing of it. You will also have to pay an airport use fee, before you will be allowed to board the plane, it seems to vary in cost by different airports. Every other country or airport I have ever been too, includes this in the ticket cost, but not the Philippines.

Enjoy your trip!!!

Be careful as my tax was included in my ticket and only had to pay the departure tax 550PH.

I would look your ticket over to see if you can find the tax or call your airlines and inquire. Or, I would go to the ticket counter and they will tell you if you need to pay, and if you do they will show you where to go. It doesn't add much more time to your schedule so be careful that you do not pay twice.

Good luck.

If the Travel Tax of 1620 is actually listed on your ticket then no you do not have to pay it, but I seriously doubt it is included in a ticket purchase on EXPEDIA being this is a Philippines related tax. There are lots of taxes with an airline ticket, but the travel tax is not airline related.

We use Expedia when booking flights to the US and we pay the Php1620 travel tax each time.

Thanks @iammrsregi. We got so worried about the physical files but you were right, our case status got updated last Friday so we felt so relieved!

That's wonderful news! My only advice is to bring enough money with you. The food inside is friggin expensive! 80 pesos for a hotdog or tuna sandwich that tastes like cardboard ranting33va.gif
